Oxidation in your brain cell membranes causes havoc, mixing up the release and uptake of neurotransmitters and transport of glucose thus resulting in poor brain function.
By using over 30 essential vitamins and antioxidants including Gingko Biloba, L-Camitine Cartrate, Lipoic Acid and important B vitamins, Bodyguard Get Smart targets your brain to help create a super enriched environment and assist with the production of vital neuro-.. chemicals that keep your body young and alive, decreasing your chances of brain deterioration as you age.
Get Smart provides a complete and balanced brain food to support optimal brain function helping to improve memory retention, alertness, stabilise moods, reduce stress levels and provide a more restful sleep.
As stated Get Smart is a complex mixture of amino acids, vitamins, and many beneficial nutrients. It contains 86, B12 and Folic Acid, which are not included for antioxidant support, but they are used to balance homocysteine levels.
Homocysteine levels are often high in patients with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Another key ingredient is Gingko Biloba, this is to increase circulation, for some individuals, reduced cognitive function is related to poor circulation.

Vitamin C (Calcium Ascorbate)
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that is required for tissue growth and repair, adrenal gland function and healthy gums. It aids in the prevention of cancer and enhances immunity. It may reduce cholesterol levels and high blood pressure and helps prevent arteriosclerosis. Vitamin C protects against blood clotting and bruising, promotes wound healing and the production of anti-stress hormones, and is essential in collagen formation. It also aids in interferon production and is needed for the metabolism of folic acid, tyrosine and phenylalanine. Works synergistically with Vitamin E and Selenium - vitamin E scavenges for radicals in the cell membrane, while vitamin C works in biological fluids. The body cannot manufacture vitamin C, so it must be obtained through the diet or supplements. Helps you cope successfully with the emotional and physical toll of stress. It assists in the manufacture of anti stress hormones.
Inositol
Inositol is vital for hair growth. It helps prevent hardening of the arteries and is important in lecithin formation and fat and cholesterol metabolism. It also helps remove fats from the liver. Relaxes nervous tension and encourages sounder sleep. It is used to treat cases of depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Co Enzyme Q10 (The Cell Energizer)
When people affected with Parkinson's disease have taken this form of Vitamin B3 their hands have stopped trembling and they have regained a steady gait. Similarly, people with Alzheimer's have experienced improved memory. Supplementation also helps improve athletic performance, reduce depression and assist with heart problems.
L-Glutamine
Glutamine has been studied extensively over the past 10-15 years and has been shown to be useful in the treatment of serious illness, injury, trauma, burns cancer and its treatment relaxed side effects as well as in wound healing for postoperative patients. Glutamine is also used as a supplement used for muscle growth in weightlifting, bodybuilding, endurance and other sports. Glutamine has also been taken to enhance brain function as it fuels two of the brains most important neurotransmitters: Glutamine acid and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It also assists in nitrogen transportation and reduces toxic buildup of ammonia in the brain (though is contra-indicated for those with Reye's syndrome). Hence, it has been used to aid memory, increase IQ in those with mental retardation, used to support those with Schizophrenia and senility. It has also been used in the treatment of ADHD, anxiety, and depression. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and preserves. Glutamine is contraindicated for those with Reye's disease, cirrhosis of the liver and kidney.
In recent studies, glutamine-enriched diets have been linked with intestinal effects including maintenance of gut barrier function, intestinal cell proliferation, and differentiation. It may be used in recovery after gut surgery or in the treatment of gut damage, the treatment of sepsis, and irritable bowel syndrome. It is also known that glutamine has various effects in reducing healing times after operations. Hospital stay times after abdominal surgery can be reduced by providing nutrition regimes containing high amounts of glutamine to patients.
L-Glutamic Acid
Is an important building block for several neurotransmitters and acts as a natural brain tranquiliser. Is a major source of energy and important building block for several neurotransmitters.
L-Carnitine Tartrate
Can refresh mental energy, improve mood, slow the aging of brain cells and impede the advance of Alzheimer's disease. It also strengthens our defenses against infections and immune problems and can accelerate recovery from a stroke.
L- Tryptophan
Plays and important role in eating disorders, alcohol addiction, Downs Syndrome, aggressive behavior, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), hyperactivity syndrome, schizophrenia, sleep paralysis and pain syndrome.
Manganese
Essential for peak brain function, and proper metabolism of sugars, insulin and cholesterol. A deficiency can result in rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, cataracts, Multiple Sclerosis seizure disorders and epilepsy.
Magnesium
Approximately 80% of people are deficient of this mineral. Levels are markedly lower in people who have multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's Diseases. A deficiency could cause the brain to age prematurely.
Potassium Citrate
Potassium is critical for optimum energy, nerve health, muscle contraction, athletic performance and a range of other functions. Fatigue or weakness and leg cramps may stem from low levels of Potassium. It may also contribute to chronic fatigue syndrome.
Copper
It helps maintain immune function.
